About

Designed in California, made in Texas.
Tayma Martins is a Marin-based womenswear brand with a daisy fresh take on vintage silhouettes. Our brand embodies soft romanticism through our custom hand painted florals and ethereal color palettes. We are in love with vintage florals, French lace, and ruffles. Every single detail on our garments is carefully selected by Tayma to produce timeless, feminine pieces to be cherished forever.
Horses, farm fresh flowers, and butterflies.
The brand was founded by Tayma Martins in 2018 as she attended ballet classes in Berkeley and drove a baby blue Beetle convertible. Tayma spent her formative years living in the rural countryside of California's Central Valley on her family's small farm in Madera.
Tayma launched the brand in autumn of 2020 while attending College of Marin. This is when she began her horse journey, volunteering at a therapeutic riding center for the disabled in West Marin. Shortly after, she also began volunteering at a horse rescue facility in Sonoma County where she rose over the years to become a senior volunteer responsible for training new volunteers and managing the herd's special medication and dietary needs. This is when she began riding horses, taking Western lessons with various trainers. She then transferred to Sonoma State University to study English Literature and Creative Writing while working and volunteering with horses and sheep. She joined Sonoma State's Equestrian Team, training twice a week riding English. Tayma graduated from Sonoma State University with distinction in winter of 2024.
Her favorite seasons are spring and summer, because of her love story with flowers. You can often find her at farmers markets buying farm fresh flower bouquets, or wandering through wildflower meadows. She also has a secret love of snow, from the years spent in Canada as a little girl.
A daughter of Nigerian patrilineage and Texan matrilineage, Tayma is proud to represent Black femininity.
When she isn't designing, you can find her at the barn.
Tayma and Dream, the first horse to connect with her at the horse rescue all those years ago. "Sharing a breath" the very first day they met. The first time a butterfly ever landed on Tayma, she was with Dream in his pasture. The butterfly stayed while she brought Dream into the barn. She continued to care for Dream privately at his new home after his adoption.
